As Silverstone builds towards the biggest weekend in its events calendar, our students have been taking part in a range of exciting opportunities connected to the world of Formula 1 and motorsport.

To begin the week, a group of Year 10 and Year 11 students took part in the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team’s inspiring Make a Mark programme.

Through a series of engaging, hands-on workshops delivered by industry partners Arm, Driven By Us and ELEMIS, students explored key themes including sustainability, artificial intelligence and engineering. The activities challenged their thinking, broadened their understanding of STEM careers and provided a fascinating insight into the innovation and technology that underpin modern motorsport.

At the same time, our Sixth Form students were gaining valuable workplace experience behind the scenes. Following a formal induction, they joined Aston Martin’s Guest Services team, where they welcomed visiting schools, supported workshop facilitators and worked alongside industry professionals to help ensure the event ran smoothly.

Across both experiences, our students demonstrated professionalism, confidence and enthusiasm. Whether they were engaging with industry experts, asking thoughtful questions or taking responsibility for supporting the event, they were outstanding ambassadors for Silverstone UTC.

Opportunities such as these bring learning to life. They help students develop the skills, behaviours and aspirations that employers value while also providing invaluable insight into possible future careers in engineering, technology and motorsport.

We would like to thank Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, Arm, Driven By Us and ELEMIS for providing such an inspiring and meaningful experience for our students.
