Dress Code

Our new uniform has been designed by our own students, taking inspiration from local industries and workplaces. They’ve created something that looks smart, feels comfortable, and reflects the kinds of careers and environments our students aspire to. It’s a great way to show pride in our school and community.

To the left you can see dress code expectations for KS4 and KS5. In Key stage 5, students need to be in smart/casual clothing, suitable for a modern workplace. Legwear can be in a colour other than black, but please note the DO NOT WEAR section below - this applies to all.

Key stage 4 footwear/legwear:
- Smart black jeans or trousers
- Plain matt-black, completely opaque leggings
- Chinos
- Black cargo trousers
- Dark black opaque tights with skirts
- Black/brown shoes
- Black trainers
- Safety footwear for engineering
- Plain black smart track pants for PE

ALL STUDENTS - DO NOT WEAR:
- Blue jeans
- Shiny black or see-through leggings
- Any other heavily logoed clothing that isn't UTC branding
- Ripped or faded jeans
- Sheer, patterned or fishnet-style tights
- Jersey jogging bottoms or striped/logoed track pants
- White trainers
- Crocs, sliders, open-toed shoes and Ugg-style boots
As our school uniform is newly introduced, we do not currently have any second-hand uniform available. However, we are committed to ensuring that all students can access the correct uniform. If you require any support with purchasing uniform, please contact the school directly and we will work with you to provide appropriate assistance.
