SEND Career Provision
All learners in Years 10-13 are entitled to find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeships opportunities along with information on university choices, as part of a careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options available at each transition point.

The National Careers Strategy makes it very clear that ALL young people including those with SEND are to be supported to achieve their optimum career outcome. For young people with SEND, the activities will be differentiated using professional judgement.

Our SENCO, along with the Careers Leader and Vice Principal will work together to co-ordinate measures to support those transitions.

The Post-16 Options guide from the South Midlands Careers Hub provides a clear and practical overview of the full range of pathways available to students after Year 11, including academic courses (such as A-Levels), vocational and technical qualifications (such as T-Levels and BTECs), apprenticeships, supported internships and work-based learning, with explanations of what each option involves and how they can lead to further study, careers and training. It also includes advice on preparing for the transition to post-16 education, entry requirements, timelines for applications, and where students can access information and support — helping young people and their families make informed decisions about next steps based on interests, strengths and aspirations.
