The 16–19 Bursary Fund is a government-backed scheme designed to support students aged 16 to 19 who face financial hardship, helping them stay in full-time education by covering essential expenses such as transport, meals, equipment, books, and course-related costs.

 

At Silverstone UTC, eligible students can apply for the vulnerable student bursary (for those in or leaving care, or in receipt of income support, Universal Credit, disability benefits, etc.) which may award up to approximately £1,200 per year (pro rata where applicable).

 

In addition, we operate a discretionary bursary scheme, where awards are made based on individual circumstances and household income. Applications must be submitted with supporting evidence and are reviewed in confidence.
