Following our recent Ofsted inspection, we are pleased to share that our report has now been published.

The report recognises the significant progress made at Silverstone UTC and highlights a school with a clear sense of purpose, strong leadership and governance, and a commitment to ensuring young people are well prepared for their futures.

A Strong Sense of Purpose and Belonging

Throughout the report, inspectors highlighted the school's focus on helping students succeed, develop a sense of belonging and access opportunities that broaden their horizons. They recognised that leaders have successfully managed a great deal of change, have a clear understanding of the school's strengths and next steps, and have worked with "moral integrity" to improve life chances for young people.

A particular strength of the report is its recognition of the culture that exists across the UTC. Inspectors noted that leaders work relentlessly to help students feel they belong and want to attend and learn, while students themselves expressed a strong sense of pride in attending Silverstone UTC.

The report also highlights the distinctive nature of a UTC education. Inspectors praised our ambitious curriculum, strong engineering specialism, extensive employer partnerships and the way industry links help students understand the relevance of their learning. Careers education was identified as a significant strength, with Ofsted recognising that students leave Silverstone UTC extremely well prepared for employment, apprenticeships, further training or higher education.

Making a Difference to Young People's Lives

Inspectors also recognised the care and support available to students, including the positive impact of our Pit Lane provision on attendance, behaviour, outcomes and pastoral care. Parents shared powerful feedback with inspectors, with many describing how the opportunities and support provided by the UTC had "totally turned around" their child's experience of education, and that many students are attracted to the school because of opportunities that can be "life changing".

As with any inspection, the report identifies areas for further development, and we welcome this feedback as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. We remain ambitious for every student and will continue building on the progress recognised by inspectors.
