Welcome to Silverstone UTC, where innovation, ambition, and a commitment to excellence define our approach to education.

Since I arrived here as Deputy Principal in September 2022, we have embarked on a transformative journey, enhancing our curriculum and welcoming incredible new colleagues and students to our 6th form and to KS4. It’s an exciting time to be part of this unique institution, and I am truly honoured to serve as Principal, working alongside such a dedicated team.

From the moment I became the Principal at Silverstone UTC, I was determined to lead a community built on powerful values—Determination, Integrity, Pride, and Kindness. I was driven by a deep passion and a clear vision for the future of this institution. That vision was, and still is rooted in the very principles that define Silverstone UTC. These values are not just words on a wall—they are the foundation of everything we do. They guide our decisions, shape our culture, and strengthen our relationships with students, staff, families, and industry partners. My commitment to these values is unwavering, and it is through them that we continue to grow, inspire, and achieve together.

I continue to be inspired every day that I am reminded of the incredible potential we have. Our location, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong partnerships provide us with unique opportunities. We continue to attract passionate, courageous and dedicated students each year, and I am continually impressed by the dedication of our staff. From our faculty members to the pastoral and support teams, every individual plays a crucial role in delivering the exceptional educational experience that defines Silverstone UTC.

With 44 UTCs across the UK, my ambition is for Silverstone to stand alongside the best. Our strengths—our location, partnerships, and the bravery of our students who choose to depart from what they know to come and join us —position us uniquely among our peers. Successful UTCs are intentional in everything they do, and we are no different. We understand that our role is not just to teach subjects but to shape young people into meaningful, capable members of society. This responsibility is both a privilege and a challenge that we embrace wholeheartedly.

Moving forward, we are committed to being more ambitious with our curriculum, tailoring it to meet the specific needs of our students. Our curriculum will be the foundation for meaningful project-based learning, employer engagement, and outstanding personal development. This intentional approach is what we are building into what I like to call “The Silverstone Way.”

To achieve this, we must all maintain high expectations—of ourselves and each other. As the Principal of Silverstone UTC, I will set these expectations and work tirelessly to support our staff and our students in meeting them. In return, I will also have high expectations for everyone, ensuring students and parents have the support, resources, and encouragement needed to succeed.

Education is full of “pinch me” moments—times when we see the lightbulb go on for a student or when we provide a life-changing opportunity. I have experienced more of these moments at Silverstone UTC than in my entire teaching career. We are part of something genuinely special here, and I believe that now is the time for us to seize the opportunities before us and create truly exceptional experiences for our students.
