I am pleased to report that this year, the National School Performance have been changed to make it much clearer that Progress 8 and EBacc, the usual measure of GCSE performance, are not appropriate for judging the performance of UTCs. Progress 8 doesn’t tell the true story of a student’s progress at a UTC, with 60% of what counts in the performance measure having taken place elsewhere. That can have a very large impact, especially in the cases where parents … Continue reading

I write, mainly to reassure parents and students and those who have applied or are considering us as a place to study in September 2018. It also serves as comfort to my staff … Continue reading

In the first of a series of posts featuring our alumni, we catch up with one of our first students, Disha Naik, who joined the 6th Form in 2013. If you’d like to find out more or are thinking of joining us in September for GCSEs or A Levels, we’d love to see you at our next Open Evening.
